Effective September 3, 2026. This page describes the current local-first service and its optional public AIHubMix free beta.
What the current tool reads
The browser reads the video you choose so it can calculate metadata, sample frames, and identify likely hard cuts.
What stays local by default
Choosing a file and building the cut map do not upload the video. The detector runs entirely in the browser. The optional AIHubMix beta sends only a newly encoded, verified analysis proxy after sign-in, local review, and separate cloud consent.
What is stored
Structured results, your manual edits, and small opening-frame thumbnails are stored in this browser's IndexedDB so completed deliveries survive a refresh or closed tab. The source video is never stored locally. You can delete each local record from the workspace at any time, or clear this site's browser data.
Google account and credits
If you choose Google sign-in, Google and Supabase authenticate the session using the minimum openid, email, and profile scopes. StoryTeardown stores the verified Google subject, a display email, an internal account ID, the credit ledger, and deletion status in its Supabase project. The email is for display only and is never the authorization or credit key.
Product analytics
Product analytics starts automatically when a page opens. StoryTeardown loads the Google tag with every consent-storage category denied, so collection is cookieless: GA4 records IP-anonymized page views and a fixed set of product events without cookies or cross-site Google signals, and StoryTeardown creates a random 30-day first-party session. If you sign in, that session may be associated with StoryTeardown's internal account UUID so task steps can be joined into a funnel; this is not represented as anonymous analytics. Client events use exact event-specific enums for page/studio steps, locale, and export format. Server-verified operational events may record account registration and Google login completion, task-scoped rights and cloud-consent receipts, task progress, entitlement, payment, refund, and deletion state using internal UUIDs. They never include email, Google subject, filenames, object paths, IP, user agent, dialogue, frames, video content, model output, source-video hashes, or raw errors. Client events are retained for up to 90 days; transaction-verified operational events are retained for up to 180 days, after which only de-identified daily counts remain. The window starts when this instrumentation is enabled; history is not backfilled.
Cloud semantic analysis
The public free beta accepts an authorized source up to 256 MiB, 120 seconds, and 160 shots. The original video stays on the user's device: the browser newly encodes and verifies an analysis proxy of at most 11 MiB, and only that derivative is uploaded to private Supabase Storage, processed through the AIHubMix gateway, and scheduled for deletion with an internal receipt. Each account may use the beta once, and the service accepts at most five beta tasks per day. The model order is Gemini 3.8 Flash Free, then Gemini 3.8 Flash, then Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite; the free model may return capacity errors. The gateway advances to the next model only after a complete HTTP 429 capacity rejection or a complete but structurally invalid result; other HTTP errors and requests whose outcome is unknown — such as timeouts or transport failures — are never retried, so no request is duplicated. A successful result receipt records the model actually used, one record per model attempt, and token counts only; if any completed attempt omits trustworthy usage, the aggregate is labeled partial. No cost amounts are calculated. The full upload, queue, AI result, zero-charge settlement, and proxy-deletion path passed a controlled Production canary before release; this remains a limited beta, not a reliability guarantee. Provider-side handling and retention remain governed by provider terms; StoryTeardown does not claim to delete a provider copy.
Current deployment
The public domain uses the bounded AIHubMix free beta described above. Waffo checkout remains limited to Test Mode and creates no real charge; production billing remains disabled.
Delete your account
The workspace account panel lets you delete an account that has no server-side projects waiting for cleanup. StoryTeardown deletes the Supabase Auth user, removes the display email and optional locale, and invalidates the session. Limited pseudonymous identity, immutable credit/payment ledger, consent, and audit records may be retained where needed for security, anti-abuse, accounting, disputes, or legal obligations. Browser-local projects are separate and must be cleared from the workspace or browser by you.

Only analyze video you own or have permission to use. The tool does not grant rights in third-party material.
